Smile

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Halloween is upon us and with it comes the horror movies, filled with ghosts ghouls, and plenty of jumpscares the horror genre is perfect for Halloween night. While I do enjoy a good horror they seem increasingly hard to find these days with so many of them being quite bland and forgettable most of them seem more interested in being as loud as possible without actually building any tension.

I'll admit I wasn't expecting much from this film, I went to see it for the experience of seeing a horror in the cinema something that I'm not usually brave enough to do, but I have to say that this movie was terrifying! It had been so long since I felt properly scared during a film, so I wasn't expecting to be as scared as I was. The jump scares in this film were unrelenting however they never felt cheap there was always a good amount of build-up between each jump and there were none of those fake-out jumps so many horrors seem to love putting in these days.

The film felt really well made with some very creative cinematography that reminded me a bit of The Shining at times. All in all this movie was a very spooky surprise one that I will definitely be watching again... On a smaller screen, with the lights on and a pillow to hide behind.
