Big fancy west-end productions are all well and good, but you can't deny there's a charm to local pantos you can't get anywhere else. An evening gathered in the village hall featuring a whacky swashbuckling story with a heap of jokes tailored specifically to the local community. Valley Arts' latest show Robinson Crusoe delivers on all fronts.
My favourite characters include:
Swash and Buckle (Played by Vikki Daley and Kevin Stone respectively),
Captain Blood (Andy Pulman),
Mother Crusoe (Emily Caldicott),
And of course Robinson Crusoe (Played by Lorraine Marsh)
The entire cast was hilarious, constantly breaking the 4th wall and keeping us involved at all times with plenty of opportunities for Audience participation. Plus, fantastic costumes, special effects and musical numbers throughout helped immerse me in the story and add to the experience. I highly recommend Valley Arts and can't wait to see what they come up with next year!
