Games to be excited for in 2025

2025 is looking to be an incredible year for games. Make sure you don't miss out on all the must-plays!

Ninja Gaiden 4

Assuming the role of a ninja slashing your way through a dark yet vibrant city. Ninja Gaiden 4 boasts sharp and stylistic combat, reminiscent of Kill Bill. Sounds fun to you? Then this futuristic action adventure is for you. Ninja Gaiden games have long been notorious for their difficulty, so be prepared to rise to the challenge this autumn.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Announced back in 2017, the wait is nearly over. Explore alien worlds and fight monstrous foes in this long-awaited first-person shooter. Metroid Prime 4 is likely to be the Switch's swansong before the next generation.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

While admittedly its title doesn't sound overly exciting, the trailer speaks for itself. Taking all the tactical intricacy of classic JRPG's while modernizing it into a full AAA experience. Expedition 33 promises a captivating story with a spectacular and unique world to explore. Set to release on April 24th, this is not to be overlooked!

Doom: The Dark Ages

Intensely Brutal yet unquestionably fun. Doom returns with all the Demon Slaying action you'd expect with a medieval twist. There's an abundance of new tools at your disposal including a shield, a mace and even a dragon! Fighting your way through Hell has never looked more fun.

Grand Theft Auto VI

In 2013 GTA had one of the biggest game launches of all time. A success that's still selling millions of copies 12 years on. I see no reason GTA VI will be any different. The anticipation for this game has never been higher, and the wait is almost over. Grand Theft Auto VI will almost certainly be the gaming event of the decade!

Nintendo Switch 2 / Mario Kart 9

Of course, I can't forget to mention that the Nintendo Switch 2 is just around the corner. Currently little is known about the specifics of the console, but you may have noticed in the trailer above gameplay for a new Mario Kart! Yes, the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to release this year alongside Mario Kart 9!
