Call of Duty Vanguard

This was certainly a game,

just not one I enjoyed very much. The COD (Call of Duty) games are mostly the same at their core and that's fine by me. The core gameplay is what keeps me coming back after all. I'm not looking for them to reinvent the wheel here as long as they get the basics down. is that too much to ask?

Multiplayer

To be fair this mode wasn't as bad as the other 2 modes available and I even put a lot of time into the multiplayer and enjoyed my time with it for the most part. However, I did have problems with it, especially when comparing it to the previous entry Black Ops Cold War, a game I enjoyed a lot more. My main problem with this game is the map design. There are way too many hiding places on each map and every time you walk into a room there could be 5 different places you could potentially be shot from. It doesn't help that the time to kill is the fastest it's ever been. All this makes moving around the map very difficult which means that very few people will risk doing it. It makes the game feel quite slow as a result. Maybe it's just me, but I much prefer having a slower time to kill and a more predictable map design as it means more focus on your weapon accuracy and movement rather than your reaction time and positioning.

Campaign

I've never been that into the COD campaigns but the last two were alright. Unfortunately, this one bored me a little. not much else to say about it other than the story failed to grip me and out of the levels, I played none of them did anything very interesting. a bit of a disappointment to be honest. At least the game looked good, especially on PS5.

Zombies

This is the worst out of the modes available which sucks because it was what I was most excited about. for some reason they decided to scrap the original Zombies experience in favor of a new mode that has you going through portals to complete increasingly difficult objectives. This mode got stale and repetitive fast. I heard that they recently added a classic round-based map to the game (7 months after the launch) but for me, it's too little too late and I have no interest in revisiting this game.

While this game isn't for me I can acknowledge the people who do enjoy it and maybe, Modern Warfare 2 will be able to win me back...
